A Poem by Leigh

When I look back at my memories
It is a notice board of postcards
Of the places I have been
Intermingled with images
Of the faces I have seen

Pretty colourful days
Untameable wayward ways
Now all lost in a haze

There is a decade of nights out
A month of peaceful thought
A year of musical sound
All nailed to my wall
This is what I have found

Wheels are in motion
Swimming in a cool ocean
Crying tears of quiet emotion

When I look into my mind
I only think of the past
When it pleases me
Because my soul is there
And it agrees with me

Hot summer nights
Blurry city lights
New found delights

The past does not only lie in our memories, but also in tangible things like postcards too! They act like souvenirs for us to remember where we've been and what we experienced! Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed the read especially with the rhyming!

Good memories are precious, that is partly why I take so many photographs... places I have been and seen; things I have done; and quality time spent with my grandkids - worth more than gold! I enjoyed the read.

This is very well written with playful rhymes throughout (I love rhyme) it's cool to think of all your past memories as postcards decorating a bulletin board and taking the time to go down memory lane whenever it pleases you - it's good to embrace our past but not dwell on it - there's so many more post cards to collect :)

Thank for your review, appreciated
Wonderfully enjoyable read, with the delightful feeling of a sweet song that you listen white driving thru a beautiful rood as fall starts. Well done from me!

See you...

Thanks, that's nice to hear
Very moving, very musical. I enjoyed it a lot. I've also always wondered why we Americans took the "u" out of colour.

Truly enjoyed reading this piece,
I just went through some old photos a couple days ago,
and this piece is worded very similar to my thoughts.
Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!

Many thank yous
I like this one, I wish I had kept all those postcards safe.
I lost them along the way, but the memories remain, and it's always a fun trip.
