A dip

A dip

A Poem by Lexyeff

my hope lies broken all over the floor before me
like pieces of glass
obliterated beyond repair
and much like glass; you would only hurt yourself trying to put it back together
faith is just symbols on ancient parchment
words meant nothing
there were enough shooting through the air
dully floating through the ear of one person
and puncturing the heart of another
brains numbing to radioactive waves and useless prattle
tears run like rain down a windshield
blood trickles out of wounds
was it self inflicted?
they'd rather not say
but we'll make our silent assumptions
sweat coated skin in the dark
a flicker of passion to be seen
blankets are the only thing hugging you when the day ends
numbers on a clock spurring anxiety
sizes adding up to self worth
what does it all mean?
The sad truth of a human being.

Wow.. This one is very emotional and captivating.. The flow is perfect..

"my hope lies broken all over the floor before me
like pieces of glass
obliterated beyond repair
and much like glass; you would only hurt yourself trying to put it back together " - Everything can be fixed. If you have the right tools. Grit, determination, a strong heart, a pure soul.. These are the tools that can fix anything. There is always hope for people who believe that it exists.

These words made me remember Rudyard Kipling's poem "IF"

"If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’"

Never give up. Life is filled with ups and downs.. You will have to accept it and face your fears. :)

A really good write.. :)

The poem spoke with honest tone and words.
"'faith is just symbols on ancient parchment
words meant nothing "
The above lines were my favorite. The poem open the door to a long conversation and a lot of coffee. Faith is a hard word. Mean truth in something we cannot hold or see. Hard to do. Being a human being is difficult. Take years to know. What we leave behind is more important than what we used and abused. We are taught to live by elders and we must pass the knowledge. Hoping our kids are less wasteful and hateful than us. I loved this poem. A poem to create thoughts. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Hello fellow writers, I normally use writing as an outlet. When I'm going through something I convert it into a metaphorical piece. I've been told it's 'different', but I hope some of you guis.. more..
