Tonight

Tonight

A Poem by Lightfalls
"

The sadness you have now, is the happiness that you had before

"
This night…

Gently covers fears
In love’s soothing embrace,
Darkness eclipses sadness
As I softly touch your face

The way you look
The way you feel
Your eyes
And your embrace

It was no cosmic transformation
By way of shattered sun…

But that night you were real to me;
That night our dreams were one

Tangled up, somehow in love,
We perfectly align
Held so close to you -your heart
Our breathing syncs in time

I escape from my own world
It’s in yours now I find
I’m close, and close enough to feel
your very thoughts as mine

Morning looms now, taunting me
This living threat of day

You…
My only ever you,
You slowly slip away

Please Don’t leave me! Please don’t go!
Please, always stay like this,

Defy the day, please just once more…
In love we breath a kiss…

If only love had been enough

You’d have never left that day

If only love could be enough,

You’d be here with me to stay.

Tonight….
