My Home

My Home

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors
"

This is a short & very simple poems about how I feel about Florida. I never ever want to leave the beaches & the balmy weather & the seashells & the ocean, but after I get my GED I have to move up to the cold, snowy north to be with my bf

"
In the summertime,
I sit on a hill.
Look up at the clouds,
& get my fill.

In a tube top & shorts,
I let my hair down,
Lie down on my back,
On the sun kissed ground.

I feel so at peace,
In this simple place,
The breeze is cool,
& caresses my face.

This is my home,
& I’ll never stray.
Though my body will go,

My spirit will stay.
