Petals Of Pain

Petals Of Pain

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors
"

I wish I could put my feeling into petals too & let them blow away with the wind. Enjoy.

"

A hundred red rose petals, cascading down,
They were resting on my palms,
Before away they were blown,
By a sigh escaping my tight-pressed lips.

Some of them tangle in my hair,
Which is waving in the wind like a sable flag,
I slowly pick them out with care,
Then cast them away into the distance again.

With them on the wind they take,
My dreams, sorrow & pain.
Leaving emptiness in their wake,
But at least I’m not hurting anymore.

I turn away once they fade from view,
To look to my home, a world of gray,
I can’t feel a thing, happy or blue,
But I will never feel the pain of loss again.
