Enigma

The Fights within

Taking me away, absorbed by the day 

The skies are grey as I begin to stray

This soul  intoxicated with conflicting thoughts

I fight to bring day from the darkest of night

shadows surrounds me, unable to fight

 

why do I doubt, why do I want

more than I have

more than I can give

 

is something broken inside me

I’m split between my half souls

One is deep and murky in which I cannot see

One is light, transparent and free

Which one shall I embrace and be

 

Is this normal? am I the only one?

Who is tempted by the unknown

Who sees through the happiness

And embraces curiousness

 

Is this how life, love, falls apart

Is this now, the end or the start?

It’s my enigma

I greatly enjoyed your piece.

While I like the work in its entirety, the first stanza struck me as having a bit or awkwardness, a bit of a fitful start, but then your poem opens up to a more viscous flow. Even though you are describing an intensity of an (internal) conflict your piece opens and flows at the second stanza onward. If you long to write again, I hope you are hard at it. I anticipate your next work soon.

Nicely put together. You ask the eternal question and indeed are not the only one. Life seems to be an enigma inside a conundrum. Beautiful writing and wonderful imagery, I love the contrast between the dark and then the light and transparent. Excellent. Well done to you and all the best.
