Forever It Shall Be So

Forever It Shall Be So

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

a friendship poem

i wait always on the edge of tomorrow to assure you

we can do anything we put our minds to

oh yes forever it shall be so

i will wind macramed circles of hope ‘round you

when optimism has escaped your grasp

i will dance your dance to the tune of your song

even when you are sure the melody is tainted

i will bounce echoes of your laughter

off the walls of nostalgia

i will bring you stars

even when the sky is cloudy and the moon is tired

i will sweeten your coffee

with the whipped cream of real friendship

and if the cheek of our collective night is kissed by tears

i will ensure they are happy ones

oh yes forever it shall be so

dear Lydia... happy tears brush my cheek, as
friendship sails the seven seas in search of
peace and serenity... Lovely to have friends who
calm the sea and share tea under an azure sky of
possibility. May falling stars serenade your
Nightingale nights of love and vulnerability.
Your poetry is a balm of true friendship.
truly, Pat

True friends are few and far between. I have 3 that are as close now as we were in the second grade at school. Valentine

This definitely sweetened my coffee, friendships are so crucial in life. You've weaved pertinently praiseworthy rings round the importance.

This is off the charts with imagination & visual delights. We all need a friend who can weave such magic from the ordinary dreariness of our days, sometimes. I think that living in a painful situation, physical or emotional, gives us the gift of such imagination to help us get thru the challenges. Some people are lucky enuf to have such a friend(s) . . . some of us rely on a higher power we can interpret as the best friend anyone could imagine, which is what your message harkens for me. You've used amazingly creative imagery to paint your word pictures, as you always do!
