love is not only for one man and one woman

My father died when I was seven

My grandfathers were both gone

by the time I turned nine

My uncle had no place in my family 

and my first step-father abused me.

Tell me then

how I'm ever supposed

to trust a man to love me

 without first

leaving scars on my body
