"Thanks for the Memories"

"Thanks for the Memories"

A Poem by Magdelena
"

Back to the old days.. What a thrill!

"

I love the big bands..
Two time steppin;
all jive when it was king...
[Ginger Rogers & Fred Astaire]
Dancing to their thing
["Doris Day"] Singing...
"[Making Whoopee"]
Boy that gal could sure sing
Hey ["Mambo, Mambo Italiano']
[:Dean Martin"] does his song;
["Doris Day"]
In...
["Send Me No Flowers"]
Man did she have power!
No finer actress, for all she was worth..
Style and grace she sure did send forth..
For no finer ladies in those day than them..
With dresses and high heels; all dressed to the gills..

Those Jiitter Bug days were sure a big kill!
On the dance floor they did their fill
With style and grace
Oh man what a place
And next time I hear an old;
["Doris Day:] Song...
I shall sing with all my might...
To...
["Pillow Talk"]...
Or..
["Love me or Leave me"]
And to ["Ginger Rogers"] and ["Fred Astaire"]....

I say...

["Thanks for the Memories"]

And ["Say goodnight, Gracie"]

~~~~
["Goodnight, Gracie"]
I am with you on this theme you have incapsulated a wonder memorial to a beautiful bygone era when ladies were so ellegant and style was just a natural gift not manufactured,there was none of this sleaze in yer face pornography like today, i love the innocence of the era a golden age where a man treated a woman with the devotion and respect she deserved,a fabulous poem.
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is gorgeous!! I love that era of entertainment, those were real singers and dancers...Doris Day had the best emotional voice ever. I recall hearing an interview with her and she said the emotion came from her mentally whispering the lyric into a 'special' someone's ear while she was singing. She excelled in the biography of Ruth Etting "Love me or leave me" BRILLIANT!!!
As for Fred and Ginger...unbeaten in all they did.
George Burns and Gracie Allen...what a pair...
Say goodnight Gracie!! Indeed...
Thank you, you have made my day better.
Cheers,
Helen *huge grins*
