Forgotten

Forgotten

A Poem by Mandyy Reed
"

i wrote this at 1:40 in the morning i just felt inspired

"

My books sit quietly on the dusty shelf,
since you left me months ago,
I don't know what to do with myself,

The stars keep crying every night,
for you- to change your mind,
for me- to make it right

The birds forgot to sing our song,
after all this time alone,
remind me where we went wrong

This is beautiful, poignant, and dewy with nostalgic isolation. "The stars keep crying every night, for you- to change your mind... for me- to make it right." That's poetic perfection in a few short words. The way you've evoked the deepest ache of my heart in three short stanzas is a rare thing, and a brilliant gift. I feel much the same as you must have when you wrote this. It's really very good. Thank you for sharing.

Very bleak. The simplicity and upfront tone, coupled with the imagery make this a very powerful read. Loved it!

Sad, wistful, reflective... as it can be at 1:40 in the morning lol

I love the flow of this poem. I love the way each para seems to start with a new note yet blend in so meticulously. And I am a big fan of simple lines with not much of a metaphor in them. :-)

Sometimes the internal struggle in our head can lead us to a better place. I like the flow of thoughts and the good ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
