When we die

When we die

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

When we die
Hell meets high water,
The Heavens grow taller,
Flowers assail coffins
In their cheerless fodder;
And children get older,
As they say goodbye to dad;
Meadows grow greener,
The plover sings deeper,
While deer eat tastier
Blades of grass.
Death spawns life,
And a longtime neighbor
Out of grief,
Finally gets that piece of a*s.

Even poem about death can be funny. Your super dry humor make this poem really hilarious .
