Final Hours

Final Hours

A Poem by Melissa Kester

In the hours in which we say goodbye

We know that it’s okay to cry

To weep, to sob, to grieve, to mourn

To not let go of whom from we’re born

In the hours in which your soul departs

Your memory imprints upon our hearts

Here, where footprints never fade

Here, where serenity has been made

In the hours in which your lain to sleep

The angels will come, for it’s you they’ll keep

They’ll take you to heaven upon their wings

Above the clouds where the universe sings

In the hours in which we move along

It hits us hardest to know you’re gone

For now we breathe, we live our lives

For we’ll see you again, in propper time

A gem of a poem, for which I would only say the last line should begin with an "and" instead of a "for".....I can't see why "for" would work when "and" packs the better punch, and conveys the better message. Well done!
