Stained Glass Tears

Stained Glass Tears

Eyes wander jagged and black

Flesh peels against death’s back

Corrosive tears reveal hard white bone

As shards of glass fall through cracks,

Inside pain; a punch to the stomach,

Chewed up feelings; pulp and grumble

The raw suffering screams of a broken woman,

These daggers point to heaven,

While the mourning continues, without end,

And she holds the world to her bosom.

Hi Todd. Just love this!!! You paint a very vivid picture of a woman in torment . . . corrosive tears!!! The brevity of the piece adds to the trauma . . . anything more would be superfluous. Good luck!! alf
