Promises

I can see in your eyes how much you miss me.
I want those yesterdays back for me and you.
All those shared kisses and hugs you remind me

Now you wonder if I gotten tired of you.
Or I moved my affections to some one new.
As I chase after the clock I hear you.

Your soulful eyes , your meows follow anew
my mind all day and while I lay in the dark.
I promise, tomorrow we will not argue.

I remembere full calendar can't unmark
And our play-date I have to postpone once more,
promises aren't easy as walk in the park.

Not a cat fan. Just wanted to get that out of the way. I am a fan of your rhyme scheme and near perfect meter. I adore the three line stanza aba, bcb, cdc, etc. Tercets in Terza Rima. Some of your lines feel a tad forced but I am happy to see you write so strong. Your poem reads well and when you step back it also looks great. The attention to detail is one of the things I love most about the craft. Poems should always be multi-faceted. Very nice work.

We are cat people, always have been. This little poem is delightful and I'm sure you will soon find time in your busy schedule to make a fuss of your feline. Ours is quite fickle, will come to me for food and nothing else. Yet he allows my granddaughter to drape him like a stole round her neck for hours on end, and sleeps on her bed. Love black cats, they have magic powers M

:) we are planning to get a kitten for our Son...
as his birthday gift... he loves cat... been asking us for a long time... he is just turning 3 (:P)
still he says..cat ..meow.. cat ... amma .. i want cat lol
just waiting to see his reaction once we get it for him...
i wanted a black one, but the one we saw is a ginger .. just like Garfield.. :)

A pets love is unconditional.... they just give and its so sweet isn't it..

If it's possible get a girl kitten. Our girl cats used to adore our son. ( do get the cat spayed early).

It takes a few days for your son to get used the kitten, and for the kitten too, it might meow a lot or hide under the couch. In time you will be glad you got the cat.

Promises are so often filled with hope.. want.. the crossing of fingers and a perhaps a vow. But life too often gets in the way.. the clocks tick on, calendars fill with commitment - not always desired comfort.

How wistfully you've laid your words.. the affection you store, waiting.. the need for what's lost, the look of the beloved and the sharing.. perhaps tis the latter that makes the deepest hole.
