Love

Love

A Poem by Sam

A higher form of infatuation

Without the selfish acts

The other means everything

They're your other half

You understand each other

Shower them with care

You could not live without them

Well you could after years of despair

Adapt and recognize their flaws

Realize they aren't perfect

But their personality clicks with yours

Their imperfections create the one you learn to love

You'd die for them

Sacrifice yourself

Show them sympathy

Adore their every quality

Compliment their beauty

After recognizing who they truly are

Reassure them they're all you want

Promise to never lose their trust

Vow to love them each moment of eternity

Once you're ready say your "I do's" on the right day

Solve each problem with careful thinking

True love doesn't involve quitting.

Love is crazy at first, but it later adapts its own sort of strange order. I don't completely understand it myself; I only experience it through role play characters I have created for romance role plays. Still, the story is a very powerful experience. It's one of those words that carries so much weight. Stacey, you highlighted much of what love actually is. I couldn't have said it better myself. :3
