Laugh

Laugh

A Story by Kathryn Smith

The truth is...

I laugh at the most inappropriate times.

I laughed at my grandmother's funeral.

Someone's ringtone went off at the most solemn moment.

It was the Harry Potter theme song.

I laugh in church.

Someone sneezed.

The priest drinking the wine looked funny.

And in my mind I heard:

"Gulp! Gulp! Gulp!"

I laugh in public.

Someone tripped and fell.

That woman resembled a goat.

That buff man's voice sounded funny.

The person next to me on the jet started screaming because of the turbulence.

I laugh at the children.

I had to take a 1 year Old's milk cup away.

His face grew unemotional and he stared at me.

I could've sworn he said.

"b***h."

I laugh.

and I will never be sorry for laughing.

I think this doesn't show rudeness or anything rather it's like that withdrawal one feels from wanting to appear normal or being less bothered at things.. I can kinda relate to this. It's this aloof feeling that keeps us sane at times...
Loved these lines here:

'Someone tripped and fell.
That woman resembled a goat.'
:p
Interesting write, Kat!
