I Wish

I Wish

A Story by Kathryn Smith

I wish

I wish he were next to me

Softly curled up in bed

His heat keeping me warm

His hands rubbing my back

Anxiety has no limits

And falling asleep

Is a battle

A war

My heart mocks me

You're still alive girl

And you've still

Yet to

Die

In this world

But if I had him next to me

My worries would melt

Far away

For his own heartbeat

Would be felt

My worries and aches

Would

Vanish

I wish

I wish he were next to me

Wishing is nice, but less believable when it comes to reality... There are so many times I wish my love was with me so I can sleep, but my reality is another sleepless, hopeless night... Thanks for sharing
