Mere Scratches

You cut into me;

blood is thicker than water

so I bleed real slow.

Mere scratches or as I might write and perhaps will...Just feelings.

Cuts with a precision only family can make. Great poem!

Thank you DCT
Not if your in a Tarantino movie (crappy joke...) but still a good poem, bleeding slowly is one of the worst pain someone can endure, especially if it's something from your sibling, loved one and so on...great job

Children!!! Teenagers hurt LOL... but they grow up and even though mine have gotten closer to me, a parent's love is always much deeper and greater than a child's is.

Thanks Mark. Glad it is not just me!
Familial pain can be the most damaging. And unfortunately we bleed out from it slowly. Wonderful John.

Yes and your children's indifference can be that slow haemorrhage.
The implications of this one are deep. If we take it at face value, yes, s scratch is just a scratch and will bleed real slow. But, we usually say blood is thicker than water when referring to family...so this implies pain, and a lot of it. Very thought provoking indeed.

Thanks Kirsten that is what I was trying to convey.
I feel this one John, bleeding out very slowly at this very moment. So few words, screams volumes.

Step away from the knives and apply bandaid!
Good poem, and a good review from Lori who rightly notes that this is, due to its content a senryu rather than a haiku, good one..

Wonderful Senyru, John. This is a typical human condition, of how family can cut us sometimes deeply, sometimes mere scratches, but always we bleed. Loved this!

Thank you Lori!
blood may be thicker, but water runs quicker. any cut is a cut to the bone, for humans are composed of mostly water. excellent senryu!

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
