The Awakening.

The Awakening.

A Poem by Paul Bell
"

Thanks to, Galadriel for the words.

"

The noose stops swinging

Darkness finds a new home

Laying dormant

Waiting and watching

Until that day

He awakens

Seeking out the vanquished

With his sword and fangs

Flashing death

Throughout the night

Smashing the egos of his enemies

A survivor at last he smiles,

As he watches the bloody mass of bodies

Pile up before him.

I love your choice of vocabulary, imagery and metaphor. Indeed, as other reviewers have stated, to go darker leaves mystery and intrigue and piques curiosity. Well done... this could even be played out more...

this is so gruesome ... so well done .. the enigma of who or what "he" is is frightening ... he remains in the dark .. and shadows .. i see the lethal intent in his eyes and face but the enigma extends to who he is after as well ... Paul... you keep a secret well don't you ;)
this is a very scary scene .. i love it .. creative and unique presentation ..well done sir!

Was't the sword enough? Used fangs too? He seemed to be outraged.( I bet there is no sense in stopping him then)
