Untitled 2

A Poem by Caleb

You were my inspiration to all things good;

To describe you, I never could.

You sued hope in the fabric of my lifeless existence;

To let you go, never thought in future's distance.

I never would have thought

the catch i finally caught,

That you would make me whole;

That I finally found my role.

The dreams of now, haunt me still;

The future I know you'll never fulfill.

To mock, to laugh, to watch my suffering,

I never thought of my possible grieving.

I now must live day to day

All the while in skies of gray.

The future still no light in sight,

My heart no longer may take flight.

I need the strength to take my own;

Although to fail I am already prone.

To shake off this unhappy chapter,

To be rid of this empty platter.

After you there is no hope;

After you I may never know.

The love I once shared with you,

I only had with but a few.

I may never regain my confidence;

I may never land back in divine providence.

I only wish you were never mine to lose;

I only wish I was never yours to refuse.
