Tangled Heartstrings

Tangled Heartstrings

A Poem by Roberta Weth
"

Wrote this on a mission trip to Mexico ... I believe it was on here but I can't remember

"

Resonating notes penetrate the emptiness

                                   Dancing      off     the       concrete
           Embracing the chords
         Encircling the melody
Winding it around me
                      Invisible tether
          Draws         me         in

Curled fingers charm the strings

         they pull the knot tighter
          Around my attention
Through verse           and chorus until

One last note hangs by a thread
                  And drops
                                 slowly away
                into
                       silence
