Lost

Lost

A Poem by Rose Diamond

I feel so lost

Lost in the abyss we call our lives

Lost in the tombs I've traveled too often

Which way do I turn?

Do I listen to my heart?

Or do I listen to those who claim to know the way?

Do I venture left

As the group migrates right?

Am I better on my own

Or is there safety in numbers?

Do I trust in myself

Or have I lost all faith?

Do I still believe in escape

Or is my only option now to make camp with the others?

Are we meant to breakout

Or are we placed in this labyrinth not to flee

But to create our own world within these walls?

Are we truly lost

Or just caged in?

I feel like this a lot, I love this! Many days, our lives can feel like a cage, but there is always light at the end of the tunnel, no matter who might believe me. In order to find good days, we must go through bad ones. Since I quit smoking last week, every day I wake up and get out of bed, feeling more and more like a zombie, my body more tired and lifeless. There doesn't seem a point to be awake, so I just go back to bed, hoping the feeling will pass, but it's just the same every-time I get out of bed again. It's a process, but it's possible to get out of our cage.

You're welcome :)
Beautiful, yet sad at the same time. It's all about perspective, so is life a prison or is it a playground? A very good write Rosie!!!
