Words that burned.

Words that burned.

A Poem by Catherine Parks
"

Written for my mama last year. I love you.

"
My heart aches for the tears that you cry.
I'd give 1000 laughs, 1000 loves, 1000 hugs for them to dry.
So that there won't be another tear that falls,
Just remember that I love you most of all.

After all the words that burned you,
That made your heart split in two,
That made you wish you hadn't done what you needed to do.
I need you to be strong,
Like I know that you are,
And I will stand right beside you no matter how far.

They do not know you, or the life that you live,
They are selfish, dramatic and don't know how to give.
Like a True friend would, sympathize and take your hand,
They refused to stop and even try to understand.

After all the words that burned you,
That made your heart split in two,
That made you wish you hadn't done what you needed to do.
I need you to be strong,
Like I know that you are,
And I will stand right beside you no matter how far.

My heart will always ache for the tears you cry.
I would give everything I am for them to dry.
So I will do everything I can to stop that part.
There will always be a place for you here in my heart.
