Overdue

When you know you care,

you put yourself out there.

When you make a mistake,

it's more than you can bare.

 

They don't talk for days,

taking with them all the sun’s rays.

They leave you wondering,

why even bother with this love craze?

 

Deep inside yourself you look,

you finally realize what they took.

Your heart is missing,

in the end they are a crook.

 

Your life is a mess,

you start feeling less and less.

You think you might stop,

you can't handle all this stress.

 

Then they come back,

all your old emotions attack.

You can't help but smile and think,

my life is back on track!

 

Trying harder this time,

you avoid every love crime.

You hope it will work out.

and your relationship climbs.

 

After all these thoughts conceive,

they finally say they must leave.

Then after that, they abandon you,

you're left their just to grieve.

 

The pain eats away at you,

destroying all the happiness that grew.

then again, with all the good that came,

some pain for you was overdue.

whoa!! thought provoking poem sister.... many people face this tragic pain in relationships these days.... people put their whole heart to the one they love and after sometime the person they love suddenly leaves them.....i know how terrible that feeling is.... its heartbreaking....another top class work..... a message to the society and the ones who are hurting...... full ratings.....
