WITCH HUNT

 

a torch burns bright held high into the night

lighting countless stances of a hunter

deliberate chains linked incomplete

sing a slink and a clink this haunted cadence is for hire

the serpent's seduction is devout

misleading the meek to inherit a rapture  

sharp tongues celebrate their hate

a sacred place for evil to bloodstain the moon in devour

alarming numbers follow the leader

they fall for apocalypse command and bow even sweeter

tucked in beds of flowers no stone is left

determination dog like pursues the true sinner

a hunter starves

his thirst and hunger will cater to a martyr

witch hunts are never pretty. it's too easy to get caught up in hysteria and go along with the crowd. these great words & imagery really capture the feel (felt like i was on one). people love them 'cuz they get to point the finger at others 'stead of looking at themselves. nothing like deflecting the truth. great pics.

You are right the hysteria in a crowd of protest, rebellion or witch hunt is like a fever that is contagious that is kinda what the serpent represents here. The fever and anger moving thru a crowd like a snake in the tall grass. You can't see the snake but you can see the physical changes as to the grass moving hissss sounds you know he is there. The serpent moves thru the crowd you can't see him but watch individuals physically change one after another as the fever takes over. Thank you for taking the time to read and leave a review. I really don't get it all. I understand the hate for Trump/pence but I think a lot of these people just want to wreak havoc despite any cause. I'm watching and waiting, for chaos, or nothing.
