The More Things Change

The More Things Change

A Poem by Colton Bose
"

A poem directed at anyone and everyone.

"

Blame the communists
Blame the propagandists
Blame the governments
Blame the opportunists
Blame them all
As you fall

Blame society
Blame the economy
Blame the well-to-dos
Blame the litter in the alleyways
Blame your neighbors
Blame your rivals
Keep blaming them all
As you continue to fall

Blame your parents
Blame your church
Blame it all
Until it hurts
Just blame everything
That doesn’t work
For you

But I’ll bet my bottom dime
It will be the end of time
Before you finally blame yourself

Very interesting piece. We are quick to blame our mishaps and misfortunes on others but never do we look in the mirror beyond the superfical and see what the true problem is. This poem was very inspirational to those who play the blame game. It is all a part of growing up. I enjoyed the read! Keep exercising your gift.

i realized that i hadn't read this one yet. I like this one. It definitely put's things into perspective. It makes me think too, I like things that do that. I know a few people who would say the same. good job.

You know, I loved this piece. I loved how you talked about our lack of a sense of personal responsibility. And how you didn't limit it to the US, but showed that it IS, indeed, becoming a worldwide epidemic. Because we all have become a bunch of sniveling little whiners. And it's never 'our fault,' as you say...but always someone else, something else that's against us, holding us down. I couldn't really find anything wrong with this piece, except the word 'on' in the second stanza. It threw me off a bit. I think it would read more smoothly if you simply said, "Keep blaming them all/As you continue to fall"
But, all in all you've done a fine job! Well, done!
