Prologue

A Chapter by SilverInk

“This was a bad idea from the start!” Tabes screamed. Her eyes were red and puffy.

Zara uncoiled the wire bracelet from around her wrist, and handed it to Bee. “She’s right, you know.”

Bee stared at her feet as tears hit them like spears. “I’m so sorry. I-I didn’t know, and-”

The golden wire on her wrist shone annoyingly bright under the dim lamplight. There was a thud on the desk, and Bree tilted her head upwards to see Tabes’  bracelet sitting on it.

Tabes stormed out of the basement, Zara reluctantly following her. Before stepping out,  she moved across the room towards Bee and wrapped her in a tight hug.

“I’m sorry, too.”
