Motherhood and the Queen

Motherhood and the Queen

Motherhood and the Queen

I am not a good chess player

but I have watched content

on developing our pieces

It seems no matter  gender

or color of a piece, our idea

is focusing our power

Into squares that lie our future,

not only of us,  but

of our twilight

twilight in which our

pawns are developed,

and our train returns home

and the king (me) might

scamper home, hobbling into

the knight, pawning for luck

Baby, you made a reflection

I’m only looking at it

our kids are checkmate.

I love you.

one of a kind ... I realy like how you worded it and how you thought about how to spill these words out nicely down :)

as a child, with a lack of good belief, the type that carried you hopelessly into the manhood of the unforetole computer age, I believed in stars. "twilight in which or pawns are developed, and our train returns home" - yeah cory, those stars. But at the very bottom of my invoice, where it says "year to date amount" or "total drug cost" was my innermost withheld affections; my erstwhile twilight...lol.

great poem my friend...….and I am reserving this "great poem" comment only on those poems that I wish to had written......dana

Life as a chessboard and all the people as pieces. Ah so nice. Much better than life as tic-tac-toe, endless draws, endlessly repeated.

ahahahaha God bless the family says i ... a steadfast love indeed :) never thought of them as pawns ... a few other things maybe ;) i like the lives and squares metaphor .. and the chess thing throughout .. i did learn how each piece moves but never study any of the whole war picture ... always thought the knights and castles were pretty cool
