Donnie

Donnie

A Poem by ROXANE DORSEY

Donnie.
Donnie is a man.
He is a nice person.
He lives around my way.
Donnie is homeless.
He stays in an abandon house.
Donnie will work.
He sells newspapers, loose ones,
new ones and collects cans.
Everybody knows Donnie.
They know he's the neighborhood
bum.
They feeds him.
They give him clothes.
They looks out for Donnie everyday.
Donnie will help out the old.
Donnie gives what he can't afford.
He give it from the heart.
One day a group of young guys robbed
Donnie and beat him up bad.
He is ok now and back selling his product
and helping others with a big smile of
gratitude.

Strength and wealth comes from the heart. Love for life and others shelters those souls that seem to have nothing but hold everything. Beautiful.

Always and with love

love poetry since it has been embedded in my mind deeply way back when I was 4 years old. A very good reader in pre-school. Nursery rhymes tuned me in even deeper. more..
