A Poem by Alex Figueroa
"

for anyone who remembers

"

A great forest
The trunk
Skies ablaze with sunlight
Hatchlings nesting in the tallest trees
Hawks swooping down to steal
insects scurrying away from the falling twigs
Red ants carrying away the weak
Blue Jays jetting down to catch birds
feathers everywhere, shells, leaves
morning of all animals
