BROKEN PROMISES

BROKEN PROMISES

A Poem by Tanya7

I sealed my lips with secrecy
I locked them with a vow
The information is a battle
Edging to break out

I watch his silent sobbing
His struggle for an end
But how can i forsaken
My one and only friend?

My mind is in confusion
My heat is deep in hell
Yet logic pulls me forward
Demanding me to tell

I sealed my lips with secrecy
And then destroyed my vow
Our friendship may be over
But he is living now

the last stanza looks familiar :) but i seriously love this. its a perfect description of the battle within a person to help another even if it may cause some harm while causing good. it happens every day to everyone even on a small scale. very nice!

What depth of integrity and true loyalty of friendship is brought out in this very short poem. You have highlighted the virtue of principles rather than the temptation of superficial friendship. There is a high price to pay for integrity of the Soul. This poem reveals that. Great job done on the verse and expression!

Kickass. This is real poetry - not pre-teen rambling about how bad life is, but about a real issue, a real problem someone faced. The way it is narrated takes the reader into the turmoil one faces when a friend mentions suicide. The two lines are utter perfection. One thing though, 'My hEAt is deep in hell", you meant 'heart' right?
