One Night Stand

One Night Stand

A Story by Ellie Venice

He stands in the doorway speechless. He's dressed in his work clothes that I love to strip him out of. I say I'm sorry over and over again, but it's too late. He saw it. He saw everything. He saw me kiss his best friend. He saw me touch his best friend. He saw me do things to his best friend that I promised to only do to him. I run to him and wrap my arms around him and cry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. He just stares at me like a stranger, like he doesn't even know me. "It wasn't what it looks like," I whispered the plea, hoping for some understanding. He just shakes his head and starts leaving. I run after him. He tells me to find a new home. "Probably with your new lover," he said. I told him I loved him, but that didn't matter, for he saw straight through my words. He knew. He knew my love wasn't real. He knew I wanted someone else. He knew I wasn't committed. He knew. He knew.

Wow this is heart breaking, You did a very good job of portraying the emotions of the narrator. I could feel what she(?) felt.
