Today I Can And Today I Choose

This is a positive reinforcement poem I wrote to myself, but you can feel free to use it too. :)

I can create my own happiness.

I can live with what I've got.

I can live.

I can love.

I can be full of life.

Time to start letting some of the light in,

Time to start letting it slip through this dark outer facade.

Time to stop giving up.

Time to stop being a pushover to pain.

Time to be happy.

I choose now to live my life - Vivir Mi Vida.

I choose now to let the world see me for who I really am.

I choose now to take off my masks.

I choose now to breathe the unfiltered air and hope it's not poisonous.

I choose now to not bend nor break, not lie down and play dead for you and maybe give up.

Today I become anew.

Today I become STRONG: Soulful, Trustworthy, Reliable, Open-hearted, Noble, Generous.

Today I become alive.

Today I become an embodiment of good and life and help.

Today I refuse to get dark, down, and depressed.

Today I choose no longer to be that dark, hurt, silent, mysterious guy,

Today I choose to be happy, full of life, and open to all.

Today I forgive myself and others.

Today I become me.

Author's Note

These lines I added in as I typed this: "Today I choose no longer to be that dark, hurt, silent, mysterious guy, Today I choose to be happy, full of life, and open to all." The way the words move to the right shows positive progress. Anyways, I hope you like it. If you don't like the lines I added in, forget them. That's more for me. You can use it for you still without those.

nicely written, Blade! you're so full of positive message now hahaha. I like the experimentation you did with lines and spaces to show progress. that adds uniqueness to the poem. hey, there's nothing wrong for being mysterious guy, a happy, mysterious guy xD ooh and the R part of the 'STRONG' should've been Resilient! xD

Lol, I took the acronym for STRONG from a comment The Pain Bearer left on my "Reflective Essay: True Story" but yeah, that would've worked. XD And yes, I guess I could be... But I want to be open, and not seem untouchable, which is the persona I throw off along with don't f*** with me. I'd like to be like the guy from "To Save A Life" (Movie) And I'm glad you liked the way I structured it! And lol, I'm guessing you're saying now because of how many positive things I'm posting compared to how many negatives I was?

Ive heard of that movie. never watched it tho. well..yes xD I've read some writings of yours that talked about darkness of the self etc. but don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that it's wrong if it's a way of expressing the complicated emotion in you or everyone else. but, yeah, I think we also should balance it with some positive side.
