Houses Under the Sea

Houses Under the Sea

The moon provided a high tide, reflections of starlight

The water provided the wet lullaby, a universal solution divine

I could still float; even in extreme isolation, on my back, deeply chilled under moon light

I could not see the tide but I knew the moon

I could no longer feel my legs but I knew they would float in saltwater

Myself and the sea the pleasant flotilla; one human dissolving into one thousand miles of open water

And everything else that's already sunken under the sea, over the procession of time; under reflection

I could no longer feel my arms, but I could still float in cold saltwater

Under starlight contemplating my uniting; when the time comes to be consumed under surface back into solution

I imagine terror in that end as, very great; as the last tips break the surface, when I've entered the void

Under saltwater, finally sinking beneath waves and starlight; facial expressions of terror under moon light

Fading away, drifting into the darker, the darker still; until the dark is all that is left now to see

I imagine the terror subsides, I'll imagine the moment of acceptance is the loss of resistance

Where there is no terror left to see, no sorry left to be sorry for, no hatred left to hate us with

The end of terror is the beginning of where I will end; in the deep where the dark now is all that is left to see

Enveloped; dissolved into deep aether, under the darkest parts of the sea

I am become body of the sea; for flora, for fuana to dine upon me now; into the earth under sea

Under moonlight, under starlight, beyond terror, past acceptance, into innocence
