You and I

You and I

A Poem by Enigma

He stole my heart

I wouldn’t give his back

He worked his way through

I stopped at his door.

He wished for the stars

I prayed for the lonely

He told me he loved me

I told him I lied

His body was a home

Mine was a home

His mind was heaven

Mine was a living Hell

His touch was a warm sensation

Mine was a cold bitter bruise

He spoke with etiquette

I almost never said a word

You kept me close

I pushed you away

You eased into my thoughts

I hoped I was first in yours

You told me you’d stay

I told you I’d leave

You said I messed up

I said you did too

You questioned me once

I questioned you twice

You were always nice

I was hopeless

You stayed with me then

I stayed with you after

We’re still together

We’re still apart

You were right

I was wrong,

Love is Love

It always was, All along.

This shows the balance between love and hate in a relationship of any kind. The bond between people and the struggles that come with it.- Opposites attracts is a major role in this also. I loved it.!

This poem is very well - written and it the poem itself is coming on and off of balance and it works very well and it like how you differentiate the two people with the hot and cold aspects and how you use different words for the two different people and it just makes it more unique as a reader to read .

"People inherently misunderstand eachother" - This poem shows this to an absolute T. It works, it's truthful and I like it. Thanks for sharing.
