Warmth

Warmth

A Poem by willweb

On this cold and blustery day,

where frozen whispers collect in the corners of your mind

and dreams travel well south of any border

As streams flow beneath a glistening surface

reflecting shivering tree lines,

chilled silhouettes of snowcapped forests

When the breezes, once a welcome springtime friend

become a formidable force,

slicing through the layers of woven smiles you wear

And temperatures have you wishing for sunflowers

in green sun lit meadows with gingham cloth

and a picnic set for two

Know that I, breathing only of the fire

kindled in my heart, raging of an undying affection

shall always provide the warmth you desire…

Thanks so much Richard, not too sure about that, but I do appreciate you saying so.
Again a very romantic poem, Will. Beautiful words, great images, very good use of metaphor. I'm getting warm while reading it. Very well done. :) Rudi

Much obliged. You are welcome...:)......
Beautiful, beautiful, when I got to Know that I..woe, just blown away; from the beginning drawn toward a gorgeous calm feeling of peacefullness (and first cold day here) I go with the senoritas - to Mexico, next building on more (I LOVE THAT FONT) the water flowing still peaceful, blistering my mind with all these images of silence in the chilled silhouetts of snowcapped forests, being a nature lover, seeing, feeling the quietness, thinking of their search for food, the next stanza, again tower in forming and with slicing throught the layers of woven smiles you wear, I sigh, the wish, visually easy; wonderful, but that ending like I wrote Know that, I breathing only of the fire kindled in my heart...This is my favorite poem of yours. I love it! Thank you, Dale.

Will, my friend...this is simply wonderful!! I loved how you built up each stanza, then brought it to a riveting close. It's amazing how the cold touches the heart of us, the muse within us. This just reads with such conviction and pulse...I love it!
