Conditional Love

My love is conditional
measured in teaspoons and handfuls
Like a bank loan
given out only to good credit
and taken
if missed too many payments

My love is forgiving
but within reason
Cause there’s only so much to forget
with lies and treason
It lets me be sweet, it lets me be adored
but my love won’t let me
be destroyed

Strength of character is an important aspect in a relationship. One grows wise after being burned if they can apply that wisdom when necessary. I believe we gain respect when we show strength.
