how he choose his fate

how he choose his fate

A Poem by faint smile

One dark night a man sat in his chair

with his gun in his lap and his hand in his hair

and as he thought about all of the years

he made so many people shed so many tears

"I don't deserve to be here" it ran on in his head

"Why am I still living? I should be dead"

he picked up the phone and called his wife

she didnt pick up, he left a voicemail explaining why he had to take his life

"I LOVE YOU" he said "So I can't watch you suffer"

"If i'm in your life it will only get tougher"

"tell kady I love her and I'm sorry i have to go"

"It's not her fault and I love her more then she will ever know"

he hung up the phone and the pain grew bigger

he picked up the gun and pulled the trigger

his wife and kid came home later that day

but when they  arrived it was far too late

It was a beautiful poem, but at the same time, it was so twisted. Wonderful job. I loved all the couplets, but I just didn't like the last couplet. It didn't rhyme the same way as the other couplets did. Overall, good job!

Catchy rhyme scheme. Nice and simplistic poem, good job. I'm hoping to see a little more flare next time, though.
