there is nothing beautiful about silent tears rolling down cheeks in public places. 

there is nothing fascinating about empty eyes and numb stares. 

there is nothing cute about being in so much emotional pain that you physically ache. 

there is no comfort in loneliness. 

there is nothing romantic about being sad

Yet there are so many poems and songs, and even paintings that are about sorrow and heartache that manage to be just that. Beautiful. It is the never ending quest for the silver lining, to look for the light in the darkness, the joy amidst the pain, and the beauty within the ugliness that life so often shows us.

It is hope.
