My Best Friend

My Best Friend

A Poem by Imperfection
"

Inspired by another poem...can't recall the name of the poet, though...

"

He has stood by me
Through everything
My worst of nightmares
Best times of spring

When I needed tranquility
In times of distress
When others had left
He had stayed nonetheless

His presence is soothing
His demeanor calm
I’ve always found solace
In his arms

From his SILENT strength
I derive fortitude
My beloved friend
His name is SOLITUDE.

Ah! This is so painful; the last line really left me out of words. As a reader, I can highly relate myself with it.
A best friend is someone who always stays with you at every walk of your life. For some, a best friend could be a person, for some people it could be a pet or anything else. But for those, who have that inevitable amount of sadness and loneliness in their hearts, solitudes is indeed their best friend.
This is really SAD!
But, so true....
The line - "My beloved friend" gave readers a thought that now you have started enjoying with this loneliness.
What a beautiful irony!
Exceptional piece of writing!

Impressive.
This is very creative.
This is a comforting read.
His presence is soothing
His demeanor calm
I've always found solace
In his arms
You have many classic lines that could stand alone
Nicely done.

It is very strong, and it is obvious that a pretty fair amount of passion went into this while you were writing it. I appreciate the effort, as I'm sure that all of your readers do-- your work really paid off.

Kudos!

Nice work.

I liked the name of the friend most of all : solitude

Nice flow altogether, this poem keeps a firm hold on the reader and one cannot stop before reading the whole of it.

Good work. ~KA~

I can really relate to this piece - solitude has always been my nature, my shelter, my fortress (if you insist on the play on words :)).
Could get quite lonely sometimes though.
A great piece, in both rhyming and flow.
I'll save this one for a rainy day. :)

i loved this piece as well, the depth really swept me away, in an uplifting, encouraging, caring meditative, focused way, the opening stanza speaks immensely in valume and takes the reader from one end of the spectrum to the other, as well as reflect what the meaning is in way of, how it effects the heart when established, to be able to wonder in solitude, very beautiful as well as creatively blissful, what captivated me as well is the distinguishable flow, reading this is like a breath of fresh air, crisp clear and invigorating
