For You...

For You...

A Poem by Imperfection
"

This is how I'm feeling today...

"

Dear You,

We’re no longer together

Yet the feelings still remain

On special days like this

The tears are bound to rain

Not a single day goes by

When I do not think of you

But a birthday is an occasion

When I don’t know what to do

If we were still together

I would’ve sent your way

A birthday present and a card

To brighten up your day

That's no longer possible

For I’m a ghost from the past

But I will love you and wish for you

For as many years as I will last

Love and wishes,

Me.

You know the most amazing thing about being in love is, not matter how far or how close you are from the one whom you love...you always care and wish the same way for them, each and every time.
Yet the pain of a heartbreak is so excessive that it can't be compared by any other pain of this world but occurrence of these special occasions always exacerbate that pain...
As a reader, I can sense that helpless feeling in your words that even though it's his birthday and you want to brighten up his day with a card or a gift but you just can't isn't it ironic...
This is totally a free flow form of poetry and thus flowed very well but the closing lines really forced me to feel that pain!

That's no longer possible
For I'm a ghost from the past
But I will love you and wish for you
For as many years as I will last - I really loved these lines a lot, specially the second line....which has been so beautifully written.

Indeed it is a great and purely a sensitive and beautiful piece of writing... :)

"I was never one to patiently pick up broken fragments and glue them together again and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. What is broken is broken -- and I'd rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken places as long as I lived." :)

I could feel the pain caused by heartbreak. Truly heartfelt.

A beautiful poem.
It is sad. But beautiful.
The emotions are so poignant, raw, and well expressed.
Great work, really.

Your sensitive soul clearly is reflected here, and it is beautiful too.Your words here were beautiful, hauntingly honest and yet not yelling with emotions. That is what parting away from a loved one does to us,initially we tend to fight how we feel, but over a time it simply subsides into a tired yet a much more calm and wise acceptance.I know it is painful, just know that, relationships are for ever, love never changes..it tends to change form though, you may not be as you were earlier but love still does remain.

To harbour those feelings when the ties are severed, always heart breaking. Wow, a stunning poem :) xx

Really well written and powerful. The sweet and the sad together once again.
