Why do you elude me so

In my quest to find you

You slip further away

And even when I seem to reach you

I start to feel I must wait for a whole new day

Why do you elude me so?

 

With each futile attempt

The feeling of restlessness surges

And as if of natural descent,

The intensity of my urges

Would just not let me rest

Why do you elude me so?

 

As I lay down each night

With deep anticipation and all my might

You come and leave with sudden flight

And over again begins my plight

Oh why do you elude me so?

 

I still do have hope

That over would these times be

So I would be at peace

Like the soothing feel of the morning breeze

 

Please do not elude me

My dearest sleep

For with me; I long you to be

If not at all times,

Just for a while…
