Will You Remember

Will You Remember

A Poem by Imara
"

Yea it's not a happy poem, please read and comment. Hope you enjoy

"

If I walk into a forest

Who will remember my leaving?

My trail long covered

By leaves of red, orange and brown.

My name long unspoken

From the lips of those who said they cared.

If I were to sleep in the forest

Who would long for my bedside comfort?

My bed made so soft

Of the very leaves that just covered my trail.

My meal warm and fresh

Made on the fire that warms my heart and bed.

If I were to scream in the forest

Would you hear my cries, or remember them?

My eyes streaming

Like rain on a stormy day filling a lake of pain.

My chest hurting

Like a deer in open season lined up for the perfect shot.

If I were to die in the forest

Who would come looking for my body?

To cry for me since I can longer?

To miss me and tell their children of me

And all that I did in that forest that no one remembered.

If I were to be in my room

Alone hearing noises and cries of pain

Ones locked far away in the subconscious of my mind

To be awakened as I slept in the night

As I cried of the memories I thought I had locked away.

Where would you be?

Would you hear me?

Would you cry for me?

Would you come and wake me?

Or would you too lock me away.

In the subconscious of your memory to forever haunt you dreams.

i think more people would come into that forest looking for you than you might think.

a bed of confusion and pain feels much like a cold forest floor...

the shelter of the trees, yet they also hide us from the world, and sometimes ourselves..

really full of shadows, this piece...

very well written.

No problem! :D
I love this poem; I think so many people can relate to that feeling of not knowing how much we mean to others and feeling like the don't notice us or maybe even will forget us at times. Very nicely written :)

Thank you so much :)
Kind of frightening left to fend for ones self in the Forest.
The deeper in you go the more lost you become conscientiously
or subconsciously...Leaves one pondering, how did I ever get
into this mess...Nicely done :)~

UR welcome!
This is extremely deep and dark. I have these thoughts often... you've painted the perfect picture of the question, "Who Really Cares???" This world is a forest and as important we view ourselves, who really matches that view? That's what I took from this.

This is the poem of an old soul. *Snaps* - Nice work.

You have perfectly depicted the state of your mind to ask how you are loved and taken care of.This is a great write as most people might think similarly to be treated by their loved ones.

Thank you so very much!
Haunting and beautiful peace. The wondering and insecurity you imply, the hope someone would care enough to notice you was great and I liked your imagery a lot. Well done
