The Secret

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

A Dream

"

Becky
Happy 14th Anniversary.

I dreamed three words within my mind

that longed to touch her heart
Each a third of the love
I had felt for her from the start

I'd hid these words I'd treasured so
praying they would only heed
But needing love they wanted out
to touch the soul they'd freed

So now at last I let them fly
as all would freely do
That she might know the first be I
the others Love and You

This was stunning! I saw so much in you piece that I felt as if i were reading one of my own. To hide behind ourselves, as I know many of us do, including I! Then to suddenly feel that freedom to come forth and speak of what is in our hearts is a feeling of re-birth. Like being a child again and finding their first joy in life and running with it.. That's what I saw in your piece. The feelings of 'at last I am free'

Fantastic!

Tate,

This is truly a most poignant and profoundly romantic, to the inner heart, piece of excellent Poetry, that I truly enjoyed reading ...

LOL, I tried to write a proper "Happy" Valentine's day poem this week and it got rejected from a magazine so I posted it here this morning:) Yours is much happier than mine:) I'm afraid I have had too much POEtic influence in my life and can't escape a bit of morbidity even when I try my old friend:/ Oh for the inner rumbles that hide inside this old poet's heart that never seem to escape... but somehow you penned that very thing perfectly!

yearned to know what word could it be, what promises did you make and it turned out to be so simple, yet so damn effective. Loved it!
