Hunger in your gut
hunger in your fear
Hungrier than most
people that are near

Hunger for a living
hunger for perfection
Every time you're giving
its your own protection

Hunger in your soul
hunger for a dream
Hunger makes you low
hunger makes you scream

Hunger might of kill you
hunger might not last
Hunger will not thrill you
Hunger will be past

Ah yes "hunger".....I haven't really thought about that word before and the many aspects it can be used for. I loved all the lines.....a tight, descriptive and amazing poem. Well done!

Reading the other reviews I see this was written for a contest so understand the repeated use of the word 'hunger'. The meter's fine. the concepts are cleverly put together.

Sweet lines: ' Hunger in your soul ~~ hunger for a dream. '

Don't like the use of the word 'of' in the first of the last stanza .. why not use 'well' .. ' hunger might well kill you ?!

wow, the stanzas do this poem justice nicely, which is kind of rare because most of the time a repitious poem getsoverworded quick,
but this was well written and expressed.

Simple and to the point; ABCB. Longings are not eternal. A good poem to be sure. One of the best I've read that's used the word hunger 13 times in four stanzas.
