The part he played...

The part he played...

A Poem by Adelia Alighieri
"

In my school play last year, I played the role of William Shakespeare. The following was what I wrote as soon as I finished writing the play...

"

It was a day in 1600,

When he woke up,

And a yawn seized his lips,

Gently, as he held the bed's knob,

Looking out of the window,

He realised the bitter cold,

And an icy breeze,

Made him fell,

The difficulties of daily life.

With a glistening fob hanging,

Under his coat,

He sat in the cab,

And explained, being succint,

To take him to 'The Globe',

And he was taken,

Respectfully,

To his destination,

Where eyes were waiting.

The next to be done,

Was 'Twelfh night',

Both Viola and Sebastian were ready,

So were Olivia and Orsino and others,

The stage too was set,

And he ordered,

The applause filled the arena,

As the curtains were raised,

For the play to initiate.

And the ship faced the tornado,

And Sebastian was no where to be seen,

Viola disguised herself as Cesario,

And became Orsino's trust,

So she was told about Lady Olivia,

But Olivia claimed for Cesario's love,

There Viola was enchanted by Orsino,

But Sebastian entered the play,

And they all lived happily ever after.

The audience stood in honour,

Of the melodious play,

And he was apprieciated,

Like never before,

But all that he replied,

Isnot preserved in my memory,

But from what he wrote,

Ends this rhyme,

"Be not afraid of greatness; some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them."

Adelia Alighieri
I tried making it a little more sensible but then I thought, Willy Shaky was never sensible himself!

Amazing Work
Even Shakespeare, or in your words Shaky, would have loved it
Good work

So you played Shakespeare? That's an ironic reversal of things because didn't male actors play the female roles in Shakespeare's day?

This is a nicely written narrative which intertwines both a day in the playwright's life and the action on the stage. It's clear you're an admirer. James.

oh how beautiful this all is ,i was 25 when i read Shakepeare,i really wondered
what mind could bring all that beauty in such a short while and died young
i really came to believe ..the best thing to do is close all primary schools and only teach Shakepeare
we would have the best generation raised..i think we would have a great world to live in
i truely believed in that and i do now even more..what life would have been living among people who
read and knew his writing and all his views..it really would be great
for this man have not left anything in life that he did not touch upon
what greatness ,i loved your write a lot..
just wonderful..
