I will not give up

Lying in bed feeling proud
Not giving in today to the usual hate
Sticking to the path I vowed
Another day survived

A step closer to my dreams
A day closer to getting out
feeling calm so it seems
My mind filled with positivity

See it's easy to be negative
when it appears the world has turned it's back on you
But there's so much left to live
This will soon be a distant memory

Reminding myself that this isn't forever
just taking each day as it comes
And keeping myself together
Because after the rain I will see the sun

Days like today make me feel so strong
For not giving into self destruction
For smiling even when it all feels wrong
And for facing the world when I just want to run

I know your watching up there
I know you'd be so proud of me
For enduring this nightmare
And not giving up

you lost your life at 23
The age I am now
you had so much of life left to see
So I'm doing this for both of us

I will not give up

Author's Note

Literally just trying this out as I feel at peace today and I know it will one day be over. I also reminded myself that I have 2 angels looking over me. As much as I hide from the rest of the world how hard times are I know they see me behind the closed doors and want you both to know I will be ok xxx
