Sweet Dreams

Sweet Dreams

A Poem by Brenda Sue

At night when I sleep I find you,
You come back to me in a sweet dream,
In my dreams it's just me and you,
Why did you go so soon, why? I scream!

There in my dreams I see you again,
Oh, sometimes I wish I could sleep longer,
And not be sad cuz' I can see you then,
But I must wake up, carry on stronger.

They say time will make the hurt go away,
They must not know that it is apart of me,
I live with missing you every single day,
I hope to dream of you tonight if I'm lucky,

"Sweet Dreams" - I never believed they were true,
But it's the only way to visit you.

These are lovely, yet kind of sad thoughts you have expressed here, but oh how I know the feeling of those "Sweet Dreams"

I did much enjoy this poem,
My favorit lines are
"Oh, sometimes I wish I could sleep longer,
And not be sad cuz' I can see you then,
But I must wake up, carry on stronger."

So true, may our dreams give us all the strength we need to believe.

Nice poem Bren.

Love,
Me

This piece seems to be so sad... bittersweet.

Brenda Sue,

How the poem stands good, the feelings of missing someone appears to be the most reason to dream, a hopeful desire, I think, that one could wish it hard,to be together with love I enjoyed reading this piece. A nice written poem, compliments!

Oh, the sweet frustration in this is portrayed well, and the poem has an air of mystery about it, as the reader can't help but wonder what happened to the speaker's loved one....

Great write!

This is kind of bitter sweet. you get to see him in your dreams, but you must awake to find he is not here. This moved me. I loved it. I haven't lost many people in my life, but those that I have vist my dreams too. My grandmother the most so. Its always bitter sweet waking up. I'm happy for the dream, but sad to have it end.
