Elusive Thoughts

Of those convenient little thoughts that pop through your head in the most inconvenient of times; there one minute, gone the next.

elusive thoughts
you pick me up
pull me along
a little dance
a little song
stay a while;
leave words behind

i will reach
catch
grasp my fingers around air
in the hope, that perhaps
i'll capture you

but alas, too soon
elusive thoughts
you dance away
leaving barely a whisper
just a hint
of those sweet words
melodious rhythms
flowing on, like a river
gone;
dancing free

it'd be futile to wish
for just one more glimpse

I have this problem quite often. Thoughts that appear at the brink of consciousness which then elude me before I put them on paper and I then end up grasping thin air. Lovely write...

I wouldn't call them troublesome, my friend. I guess it is my old age and failing memory which makes it difficult for me to grasp those words and cling onto them till I can find pen and paper. It was my pleasure reading you
