Eyes

Eyes

A Poem by breakthebrokenone

I can't take my eyes off you
Anywhere I look, all I see is you
Nothing compares to the sight of you
And nothing makes me more content
Than looking into your eyes
In the early morning light.

Eyes that pierce and protrude my skin
Eyes that keep me in place
And redeem me from all the sin that I have done
Eyes that's catch me and captivate me
Smouldering my soul
Turning me from a stone figure
Into rubble in a matter of seconds...

But these eyes out me back together
and fill the fractured with gold
turning me into a masterpiece
ten times more beautiful than before.

Putting me on a pedestal
holding me in the highest regard
In the most worthy of places
To worship me like an idol.

Those eyes make me fall
over and over again
until I feel like I cannot take it anymore
But each time I fall
He catches me
and holds me in his arms
Until I feel safe and strong again.

Eyes that hold a moment
That should only last a second
But stays with me for an eternity
Every time I look into his hazel eyes.

Captivating imagery. Eyes are indeed the window to a person's soul. Don't believe the scientific studies that tell you they are, in fact, expressionless; trust your own instincts.
Nicely done.
